Attleboro’s

Attleboro's 1 Adventure 1 Book 1 Community, has chosen for its annual citywide read in September and October True Grit by Charles Portis, an American western published in 1968.

The novel, set in the 1870s, is told from the perspective of its 14 year-old narrator as she searches out her father’s murderer. The book has twice been made into a feature film: in 1969 (starring John Wayne) and in 2010 (starring Jeff Bridges).

Attleboro needs your help in celebrating this classic American novel. After you read the book, consider joining us in discussing the book and movies and participating in various Western-themed events.
